Andrew Jackson’s politics were very Jacksonian (jackson-preferred-state-rights) compared to radical Republicans. For one, he was more sympathetic to the Confederates. Additionally, he tried to curb many bills that the radical Republicans tried to enact, such as when radical-republicans-kicked-off-the-freedmens-bureau-bills.
